Hi Lio, looking at the boats lost in August 44, only U230 could be the boat in question. U471, U952, U967, U969 were all bombed, U471, U952 and U969 were sunk in the dock areas, while U967 was badly damaged also in dock, where being beyond repair she was scuttled. The U466, had been bombed and damaged earlier in July, and was deemed unservicable, she was demolished in dock preventing her falling into enemy hands. Which leaves the U230 as the only servicable boat, she unfortunately then ran aground while trying to get away, and was subequently destroyed by her crew, which being 50 men, the same number taken from the fishing boats by the USS Ericsson.[Source Sharpe and Kemp].
