Lifeboats that are never found.

As a daily viewer of U-Boat net I am amazed at the number of reports that state that ''the crew were seen to get away in the lifeboats but were never seen again''.

This is not just one instance but repeated time and time again. If the crews perished surely some of these lifeboats would be found with their dead occupants.

As the reports of the lifeboats getting away are from the U-boats themselves, are they always true or was something more sinister at work.

Excellent comprehensive website and brings home the suffering of both sides, the horrific loss of lives and material, and the total stupidity and waste of war!
