When my uncle came home from wwII (he was a submariner) he always told us about when he was assigned to a captured german u-boat that was taken from britain to the US. I remember two things about the story. The first was that they were afraid to dive the boat (so they didn't). And the second was that they went through a terrible storm and that the boat rolled 90 degrees each way. I think it went on for many days. He said that he saw a hardened veteran praying to die because he was so sick. Does anybody have any idea what boat this was or anything else about the story??
