U-167 was badly damaged on the 5/4/43 in two separate attacks
by RAF Hudsons of 233 Sqn. U-167 was scuttled on the 6th just
of Gran Canaria and the entire crew went ashore. They were pick up
later by two other U-boats (U-159 & U-455) on the 16th and taken back
to France.
This U-boat was salvaged in 1951 and taken to Spain, where she was
broken up.
