Dear all,
1st time poster but long time admirer of this fantastic online resource.

The question I have set myself for my dissertation is this: To what extent did the Royal Navy or the RAF individually win the battle of the Atlantic at a tactical and operational level ? 1939-45

I am by no means asking you to answer that question for me, thats my work ! But I would value the help and opinions of anyone who thinks they could help guide my line of inquiry, especially as my university does not have a resident naval specialist.

I have already read quite a few titles on the subject matter, from personal accounts such as Werner's Iron Coffins to the Memoirs of Doenitz. I was wondering if any of you fine ladies and gentleman could offer research tips for books I should include and archives I should visit.

Best wishes, I am in your debt for any advice.
Tom.
