U 40: BdU got letters from three survivors in which they wrote that the boat hit a mine on 13.10.1939 and was lost with all hands except those three men.
On 09.11.1939 the boat was reported missing (1 star). There was no 2- and 3-star-report.

There seem to be no reports for the other boats.
For U 745 I don't know as I don't have the war diary.
