Engelmann boat was not a u-boat but a pre-war experimental 265 tonnes high speed boat project whose spindle-shaped hull laid almost entirely beneath the surface.The boat was controlled from a small hump-shaped superstructure that protruded above the surface.The project was subsequently abandoned at the begining of the war.

There is a line-drawing in the book \"The U-Boat\" by Eberhard Rössler.(Page 121)
