<HTML>Hi All
On Jan 27 1942, as of a state of war existed between the U.S
and Germany, U-boat High Command did kept the deck guns
of all her long range U-boats. The guns were to be used on
convoy battles and on coastal attacks at small targets.
However, by 1943/44 the decks guns on the U-boats become more
useless, as the enemy anti-submarine defence had great
improvements during the last years of the war.
