Hi TF,
I would say in my opinion that U-405 should not be credited with the sinking of USS Borie. U-405 did not sink USS Borie. USS Borie sank because of the ramming of U-405. Therefore, USS Borie sank itself and not U-405. No credit goes to U-405. Just my opinion.
