Hello All,
I am writing an article on U-3520 and Kaptlt. Sarto Ballert for my own interests sake. I am trying to piece together U-3520's only voyage with dates and destinations etc. I understand U-3520 was commissioned on Jan 12, 1945, and departed Gotenhafen on Jan 20, for Swinemunde. Does anyone know what date U-3520 arrived in Swinemude and what date it departed Swinemunde for Eckernforde?
Also, I know U-3520 was carrying 34 U-boat construction workers when she sank, when and why did they embark on U-3520? She was then sunk on Jan 31, 1945, by a mine in Kiel Bay.
I hope someone can answer these questions.
Cheers,
Caleb
