Hi Brian, according to Wikipaedia the partial surrender orders came in to effect in the early hours of May 5th to areas including Germany and Denmark. Before sailing U534 were in formed by the harbour master at Oresund, Elisore that the ceasefire was in effect south of the 56th parallel. .the small convoy of U534, U3503 and U3523 were to the north of this. As for the other two points, I doubt if there was any suggestion of seeking a surrender, and as U3523 was also sunk the U3503 reached Goteborg at 07:30 on the 6th. John
