Thanks for the awesome reply- I suspected that it would probably be more complex question than it seemed. Honestly, my interest in the Battle of the Atlantic is strictly amateur, but collections like this site give you a real idea of the complexity and scope of this historical event. I wonder if there is a similar collection regarding the USN's efforts in the pacific. I would guess that the navy probably conducted a post war study, maybe I'll look for that.
