WW II - Fast Attack Craft War Badge - Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen

Hello,
Somebody presented me recently a Fast Attack Craft War Badge - Model 2 (about 2” high). I determined that it is a Model 2, because it shows “longer and newer model S-boat and a larger German Eagle at the top ”
On the back there is a small embossed "GB" logo.

Does somebody know the origin of means of this “GB” and can tell me how I can be sure if it is an original item or a (later) copy ?
