Bonjour,

I am happy to present my first message to your community, which I salute here for the quality of its work and the relevance of its research. The cordiality that presides over your exchanges also leaves no one unmoved.

I would like to suggest the following question:

During the night of 7/8 September 1943, a Wellington of 172 sqd (Wellington XIV MP791-Q) came into contact with a Uboot in sector 2203 4635N 090W.

several bombardments and strafings took place, and the submarine was apparently damaged.


The submarine put up stiff resistance. He managed to damage the British twin engine and escape.

would it be possible to know the identity of this submarine?
