Dear Pat,
Probably it does not provide all the information (or details) you are looking for, but Luc Braeuer in his books - written in French - about u-boats in French ports (Lorient, Brest, La Pallice, St.Nazaire) has sections in his books with information/photographs/drawings related to the sites where officers and crews remained when not on board.
The name of the author suffices to find his books with online bookshops.
Success!
Walter
