To clarify, to build a ship or submarine the first stage I was led to believe was the laying of the keel. Regarding these two boats neither are listed as having the keel's laid, yet both are listed as sustaining [serious] bomb damage which led to their construction so delayed that they allocated new building yard numbers, i/e 152-153 to 166-167. What work was actually done to both boats if no keel was laid?. john
