How Many Liters of Air Inside the Type IXC U-Boat
Date: April 05, 2024 11:20PM

I've been trying to find out how many liters of air were in the living space of a type IXC U-Boat.

Once they closed the hatch and dived, how much air did the 56 crew onboard have to last them for however many hours they were going to be down for?

Can I check also, if they were tactically forced to stay submerged, what would have been their threshold (not using their reserve pressurized tanks)?

-- And one last question: What was/is the correct term for the breathable/livable space inside the hull? -- the "living space"?
