Met A guy in the late 1990s Ernie or Ernst Schmidt who (passed away now) lived in Ohio around Lima that claimed to have been in a Uboat. I think possably U1232 ( boat was 4 digits) and spent time after the war in a POW type camp in England.

Can anyone confirm this person and record??
