whats in Paris, France

I got a day visit to Paris booked for 5.1.01. Only there for about 6 hours but does anyone know of:-

1 - anything of interest to see especially regarding U-boats or the German occupation ?
2 - anyone living near their fancy meeting for a bier/beer or two ?
(I\'ll have my girlfriend & son with me but I can send them shopping while I visit some more interesting things :-)) Hell if she reads this I might not even be allowed outa the UK)
Never been that far inland in France so havent got a clue what to look at/for so any help gratefully appreciated
