Foreign Warships Visiting Shanghai

<HTML>Hi Kameraden,
With the help of a good forum friend, I was on board the French helicopter carrier Jeanne d¡¯Arc that visited Shanghai the other week (those of you who know me well have already known this). This is a dream-come-true for me as it was the first time that I¡¯ve ever been on board a warship and it¡¯s a wonderful experience! Up till now I can still feel the excitement.
This experience has made me long to visit other foreign naval vessels as I feel so attached to the ship once I was on board. I do have the feeling that I belonged there! So I¡¯m really curious to know whether you know of any other foreign naval ships that may visit Shanghai in the near future, especially those of Deutsche Marine (and u-boat of course )! I have noticed that they don¡¯t seem to frequent the Pacific waters very much, their major activity area seems to be Europe and North America. However, I remember that in Doenitz¡¯s time, they had quite some world tours. I have heard that a British sub used to visit Shanghai in recent years, I really wonder whether it¡¯s possible for a u-boat to visit Shanghai taking account of the political and economic factors.
I¡¯m sorry that this is rather off topic, but on my part, I don¡¯t mean to break the forum rules. I just can¡¯t resist the temptation to ask it here as I know this must be the best place to ask for naval relations. Please excuse me as I¡¯m just the one who loves the sea and the navy so much.
Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Best regards,
Ying
