<HTML>Hello,
My father was on a ship called the HARBURY of Harrisons of London.
Looking through a book he has on the fate of Merchant vessels, I discovered that his ship was torpedoed by U628. He didn\' t know that the ship was subsequently finished off by U264 as by that time they had abandoned ship and been picked up by a \"rescue trawler\" - so they never saw her sink.
I have come to this excellent site to find out what I can about U628, and so if anyone has any knowledge about that particular sub., it would be great to hear from them.
My father gave me a sextant, which is believed to have been a U-Boat officer\'s instrument. It has the Eagle and swastica on the arc. I have contacted the makers in Germany, but their records do not go back that far. If anyone knows how I could trace who a sextant would have belonged to, again I would be really appreciative of their help.
Kind Regards,
Paul Martin</HTML>
