Which set is more accurate?

<HTML>I'm branching off a little bit here, in discussion of the technical accurary of the sets used in U-571 and Das Boot.

From what I can tell, the U-571 set is less accurate than Das Boot's. It just looks too big, and the prop people did a terrible job "accessorizing" the boat. They showed about three scraps of meat hanging from the ceiling, and that's it!

What we see in Das Boot seems more accurate to what we've read in accounts from actual sailors. The dark grey walls might be an aesthetic choice from the director. U-571 was filmed using a wider lens than Das Boot. However, Petersen mentions several times in his commentary it actually looks bigger on screen than in reality!</HTML>
