Assault On A Queen

I just finished reading Jack Finney\'s book, \"Assault On A Queen\" written in 1959. It involves the raising of a WW-I U-boat, U-19, (if such a boat ever exsisted) and its refitting for a mid-ocean heist.
The book was made into a movie of the same name in the mid-to-late 1960\'s with Frank Sinatra and Tony Francesca (sic). From the little I\'ve read or remember, a WW-II U-boat was used in the movie version. (I haven;t had any luck finding a video version of the movie locally.)
Has anyone here seen that movie? Was a real U-boat used for the filming? If so, what number was it?
