Thanks for responding. It is always nice to hear from a WWII vet. How old were you then? Are you english or Canadian?
My next door neighbor is 88 years old, was in WWII USA navy in south pacific on cruiser. I sit and listen to his stories-better put experences. I go as often as possible, he is still in very good shape body and mind but I sit and wonder why can't we get to these U-boat vets and captains and get this info and put togather another das-boot type move etc. The clock of time is taking its toal and soon this vast exposure of available info will be gone.
I also think a great movie could be done about a german tank crew? Look at the battles and expreneces these guys went through.
