I have seen the extended version ( approximately 5 hrs ) on cable here in the US twice ( sanitized language wise ), but the little bit between LI and Werner was absent, or I missed it. :^) I only noticed this in the original theactrical release version.
This longer version does go far deeper into the characters and their developement, which was a plus in my opinion. Helped explained some of the goings on in the DC version. I did appreicate the commentary that Lt. Werner made throughout this version of the film also.
