49th Parallel - U-boat stranded

Plot of 49th Parallel (1941)
"A damaged U-boat is stranded in a Canadian bay in the early years of World War II. The Fanatical Nazi captain and his crew must reach the neutral United States or be captured. Along the way they meet a variety of characters each with their own views on the war and nationalism."

Anyone catch the movie 48th Parallel on US Cable?

I only caught part of the movie. One German officer tells a French Canadian that one of their ultimate goals is to free the French Canadians from British rule.


One U-boat officer finally makes it to the US only to be shipped back to Canada as undeclared cargo.

Prior to the US entry into WWII, the US actually started shipping escaped Germans back to Canada when they were captured on US soil without an extradition hearing. The escape of Franz von Werra was the cause.
