When classifying large bore guns, they are listed for example as:
5-inch 38-caliber; 5-inch-25 caliber; 16-inch-45 caliber, and so on.
To determine the length of the barrel, multiply the bore by the given caliber:
5-inch 38-caliber: 5 X 38 = 190 inches long
5-inch 25-caliber: 5 X 25 = 125 inches long
16-inch 45 caliber: 16 X 45 = 720 inches long (60 feet)
18.1-inch 45 caliber: 18.1 X 45 = 855 inches long (71.25 feet)
According to: "Battleship Musashi" by Akira Yoshimura, tthe main battery gun barrels were "21 meters long." The Musashi was the second Japanese super battleship built in secrecy.
