Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Klaus Doldinger, composer of the sound to Das Boot made 70 these days, an opportunity taken by the WDR (Westdeutscher Rundfunk) TV to come up with a ninety – minute –feature about his indeed amazing career:

Of this German description of this special program at the end it says that he also was a composer of „Filmusic“. Three minutes out of the ninety – minute program had Doldinger talk to the journalist, creating this show, how he got the offer from Petersen to compose the music to DAS BOOT and then presented some live picture of his studio where the creating of this music took place, f.e. some kind of an instrument, looked like mixture of a piano and an organ, where one of his buddies produced the “ping” when asdics hit the boot and few others, like where, when, and why he picked the female French singer and which type of songs for the Bar Royal.

Since there were at least these few life pictures of him composing said music there might be chance he is in the possession of even more. So our “Board of Directors” might want to take a chance asking him about this and inquiring as to how what chance exist somehow to put them on our net or something like this, as you know I’m no expert on this.

You all have a nice weekend

Sincerely Yours
Volker Erich Kummrow
