Greetings and thank you in advance. I am writing a book about my grandfather and need to fill in some blanks. He left Portugal in 1915 en route to Providence, Rhode Island. I'm not sure which month. While at sea, his ship, SS Roma, was stopped and boarded by a Uboat. Can anybody identify the Uboat? What was the protocol for boarding a passenger ship? Signals, warning shot?
