Hi Joe Thank you so much for the info and it's good to take part in such a great website. It would seem likely that it was the Queenborough that was sunk by Crusemann, wouldn't it. The family story is that the Queenborough was minesweeping but I have no evidence of this, it could just have been fishing. I suppose there must be a list of ships that were requsistioned by the admiralty?

Hi Simon Just wndering what your interest was in the Grimsby trawler,(GY658) sunk by U86. My Great Grandfather was lost aboard this trawler,ST Queenborough in 1917. It's good to know finally what happened to her. I have been trying to find out for several years - she doesn't appear in any loss books which hasn't helped. Hope to hear from you. Regards Debbie

Hi Joseph Ref: ST Queenborough gy 658 My Great Grandfather, Charles Collett, was lost aboard the trawler in 1917. I was wondering where you obtain the information about the sinking by uboat, U86. Any information would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks Regards Debbie Collett
