Hi Michael
Thank you for all your information, I'm completely hooked by it all - and it all started with an old family photo and a name of a ship, the Queenborough.
Thanks to websites like this one and knowledgable people like yourself and Joe etc. I now know something of what happened to my Great Grandfather and can tell the rest of the family. The thought of him and the rest of the crew struggling to survive in a lifeboat in the middle of the North Sea certainly brings a lump to my throat - such is the nature of war.
Re the KTB from the U86 - would this offer an insight into where the Queenborough was stopped/sunk? and how would I get hold of the relevant pages? Is it from the Deutsches U-Boat Museum Archiv ???
Thanks again, Michael,
Kind regards
Debbie
