Question: While many small craft requistioned by the Royal navy (fishing boats, trawlers, drifters, etc) carried small arms, usually several rifles (some WWI vintage Canadian Ross) to deal with floating mines and such. Did merchant ships also carry a supply of small arms (rifles, pistols) for things like mines, guard details and other tasks?
