Hello there. My name is Jay and I'm new to this most informative forum! I collect various Third Reich bits and pieces and recently I have purchased a lovely German cross in gold. The said medal came with some history about the chap that was awarded it. It belonged to Karl Conen who was one of only two survivors when his u-boat, U-460, was sunk by American planes in 1943.
