I am confused as to where this Uboat went down. Looking at uboat.net, it seems it was "Sunk on 19 April 1945 in the North Atlantic south-east of Halifax, in position 42.19N, 61.45W." However, states that it went down east of Boston, and also gives the coordinates 42°19'N-61°45'W. I just don't know enough about how the coordinates work to figure this one out.

I think I found the appropriate sites on the uboatarchiv. I am still a bit confused, so I ordered a book entitled German U-Boat Losses During World War II: Details of Destruction. Thanks so much for your response. I can get to Uboatarchive.net but I cannot figure out what to click on next. I tried searching for U-548 but that didn't work too well either. I read this one: which suggests that it was U-879. I would like to read more if there is more available. Thanks again!

I am hoping someone might help me understand which uboat was sunk 29-30 April 1945 in the North Atlantic by the USS Natchez, Coffmann, Bostwick and Thomas. If I consult the uboat is referred to as U-879. However if I consult (3rd to last paragraph) the uboat is referred to as U-548. Is there something I am missing here? Thanks if anyone can give me any clues.
