Hi THE SINKING OF U BOAT 1206 In a British television program called QI the panel were asked how the captain sank his own U Boat. Apparently he used the toilet but was too embarrassed to ask the proper person to flush it for him, so he did it and got it wrong. Hi I don't know if this is of any use to you but in 'Wales at War' the author relates how a post-war German visitor to (I think) a cathedral told someone he landed from a U boat during the war for supplies. I'm sorry I can't check the information as it was a library book and I took it back ages ago. I was looking for other information. Jacky

Would a spy landing operation be logged by the u boat involved or would it be listed under, for example, 'special operations'? Obviously any crew members would have guessed what was happening if they were not told but have any lucky survivors mentioned such episodes in their memoirs or accounts. Thank you

Hi In a book I bought on Ebay it mentioned a spy in Accra,Gold Coast (now Ghana) was responsible for sending a lot of shipping to Davy Jones locker. Finally the Americans asked the British to pinpoint the site of the radio and then fed the spy false information. When the German ships arrived to sink the ship they were themselves sunk.
