Historians can't state precisely how much of an influence the Ultra intelligence had on the routing of ships or how it effected the War because most of the documented uses of Ultra were destroyed, and it wasn't until the 1970s that the fact that GC&CS had broken the Enigma cipher was de-classified

Hello Bruce, I searched for information about convoys SC 123, ON 174, HX 230, and HX 232 using Google, and could find only descriptions of individual escorts and merchants in the convoys. What little information I did find about the convoys looked very promising. Do you know of any sources which might describe the routing of the convoys? Thanks, Jimboy

Hey guys, Does anyone know of any specific examples of convoys saved or U-boats sunk primarily through the use of ULTRA intelligence? ie: Convoy is rerouted to avoid known U-boat positions/independent hunting task group is sent to sink a U-boat at a known location to clear the way for a convoy
