View of the forward bulkhead of the control room. Peeking out of the top edge of the photo are the engine order telegraph transmitters for port (red) and starboard (green) side. Beneath those is a gyrocompass repeater. The box beneath that is the electric control box for the rudder system, with push buttons to control the electric rudder motor in one direction or the other (in identical fashion to the hydroplane controls). The small rack with two bottles in it is an oxygen filling station for rebreathers. The large boxes on the wall to the right are control boxes for the starboard engine order telegraphs, to select which telegraph receiver in the engine rooms is active, as well as turn off the transmitter’s buzzer sound on silent running.
