HMS Activity (Capt. C. Wauchope, CBE, DSC, RN) picks up 92 survivors from the American merchant Peter Silvester that was torpedoed and sunk on 6 February by the German submarine U-862 south-west of Australia in position 34º19'S, 99º37'E.
