21 Feb 1945
The Bismarck Sea was attacked by 3 Japanese kamikazes, two of which were shot down. The other plane crashed onto her deck, exploding her ammunition storage, causing uncontrollable fires, despite the efforts of her crew. The carrier took 90 minutes to sink with 318 men lost. (2)
