Career information
Hugh Crichton was born in Bayble, Isle of Lewis, Scotland on 17th February 1898. Hugh joined the R.N.R. in 1921 and became an officer in 1930s retiring in 1948 with rank of Chief Skipper (equivalent of Lt Commander). In 1955 he was awarded the Reserve Decoration. He skippered anti-submarine vessels at Scapa Flow and Gibraltar.
