History  
Notes on loss At 06.31 hours on 24 Sep, 1941, U-107 attacked the convoy SL-87 southwest of Madeira and reported three ships sunk. These ships were John Holt, Lafian and Dixcove.

The master, 37 crew members, five gunners and four passengers from the Lafian (Master Evan Llewellyn Phillips) were picked up by the HMS Gorleston (Y 92) (Cdr R.W. Keymer) and landed at Ponta Delgada, Azores.
