Notes on event

On 16 January 1940 the neutral Andalusia departed from Bordeaux and went missing in the North Atlantic after sending a last wireless signal early in the morning of 21 January. It is believed that she was sunk by U-55 which did not return from her patrol.

Wreckage and debris spotted in two different places northwest of the Hebrides on 27 and 28 January 1940 probably were from Andalusia and Segovia.
