Notes on event

About 09.30 hours on 13 May 1943, U-176 attacked convoy NC-18 and sank the Nickeliner and Mambi.

The Mambi (Master Ramon Alvarez Iturralde) was hit by one torpedo and sank fast. Of 29 Cuban crew members and five American armed guards, only the master, nine crew members and one armed guard survived.
