| Notes on loss | At 18.50 hours on 29 Jun, 1941, the Kalypso Vergotti, a straggler from convoy SL-78, was hit by a torpedo from U-66 and sank within 50 seconds west of the Canary Islands. Two empty lifeboats and a few survivors swimming in the water were seen by the Germans after the attack. | ||
