History On 26 Dec, 1943, the Harmatris collided with the British steam merchant Asian (2461 tons) in 07°45N/77°40E and was damaged. The other ship sank with an unknown number of casualties, 14 survivors were rescued. 
Notes on loss

At 18.46 hours on 17 Jan, 1942, the Harmatris in convoy PQ-8 was hit by one torpedo from U-454 amidships and caught fire. The fire was extinguished and the ship reached port safely.
