Notes on loss At 22.17 hours on 17 Feb, 1942, the Empire Comet (Master Hector Raymond Willis), a straggler from convoy HX-174, was torpedoed and sunk by U-136 west of Rockall. The master, 37 crew members and eight gunners were lost.
