In September 1939, requisitioned by the Royal Navy and used as armed boarding vessel. In February 1942 loaned to the US Navy. | ||
| Notes on loss | On 8 Mar, 1942, HMS Northern Princess (4.06) (Lt Dryden B. Phillipson, RNR) was torpedoed and sunk by U-587 off Newfoundland. The vessel was reported missing after she was seen for the last time at 20.43 hours on 7 March in 45°22N/55°59W. | ||
