History
Notes on loss At 11.40 hours on 1 Mar, 1942, U-436 fired a torpedo at a steamer of 1500 tons northeast of Cape Teriberskij and reported a hit after 47 seconds and the subsequent sinking of the vessel. The victim was probably RT-19 Komintern that was fishing off the Gusinaia Banka, Novaya Zemlya, although Soviet sources report the date of loss as 16 March.

* Estimated position shown here is based on positions of losses in a roughly the same German grid code. It may be a bit off but should give a good idea as to where the attack took place.
