| Notes on loss | At 02.26 hours on 17 Mar, 1942, the unescorted Ceiba was torpedoed and sunk by U-124. Six men on a raft were picked up two days later by the USS Hambleton (DD 455). Among the dead were wives and children of some crew members. | ||
