Notes on event | At 14.55 hours on 13 September 1939 the unescorted and unarmed Davara (Skipper Boyles) was shelled and sunk by U-27 after being stopped 21 miles northwest by north of Tory Island. The skipper and 11 crew members were picked up after five hours by Willowpool. |
